Performance issues with standard GLAccountBalanceFlow CDS when loading SAC

Hi folks.

When using GLAccountBalanceFlow (OData service UI_FINS_GLAccountFlow) to load transactional data from S/4 into SAP Analytics Cloud, we are noticing that the performance is significantly worse than all other transactional CDS views we are using.

We are applying all recommended filters you would expect, such as Chart of Account, Controlling Area, Movement Type, Fiscal Period etc. and despite a relatively low data volume (<100k) the performance is still unacceptably bad. Attempting to run will hang for several hours and then raise short dumps due to memory outage.

If this is the CDS view that is intended as the SAP standard solution for loading closing Balances, something is going wrong. Are there any recommended steps or prerequisites to get this to work better? It is only this one CDS that seems to be having such issues.

Kind Regards

Hi,

i am sorry, but this topic is too complex to answer here. There is no sensible answer possible without looking into your system. I recommend to you to open a customer incident. Depending on what type of customer you are, please open this incident on FI-GL-IS-2CL for cloud or FI-GL-IS for On-Premise/ private cloud.

Please describe in detail and screenshots what are you trying to do and what is the result of it. Please give detailed information about columns you select and filters you decide.

Please reference this community post in your incident too.

Regards,

Simon
