PC upgrade and License transfer

Hello.

I am replacing a user's old PC for a new one. The user currently has Crystal reports XI installed.

When I attempt to transfer the license from one PC to the other, it says the key is in use.

I removed the key from the old PC, but still no result.

What is the best way to transfer the Crystal Reports XI software from one PC to another?

Hi Larissa,

You should be able install CR XI on the user's machine with the same key (as CR is a per User License).

Could you attach the exact error message please?

Thank you. When installing on the new PC and prompted for the Keycode, I make sure to go into the Business Objects License Manager on the old PC and click 'Remove' from the old Keycode entry. This is the message I get when installing on the new PC.

Hi Larissa,

So, the old PC has an older version of CR (CR XI : 11.0)

What is the version of CR you're trying to install on the new PC?

P.S: Please do note that CR XI and CR 2011 are different versions and need separate license keys.

CR XI version 11.0.0.895

As I install the software on the new PC, I notice it says CR 2011. I must be using the wrong version then. Thank you!
