Hi,
We are just in the planning for doing an upgrade from
4.6C to ECC 6.0.
Our 4.6C is running on Windows and with an Oracle DB(9.2.0.7), kernelrelese is 6.20.
The question is now, must we upgrade the DB to 10.2 or is this just "best practice". I have not found any document stating that version 10.2 is a must for ECC 6.0. Does anyone have any info about this.
Thanks!
Fred
Dear Fredrik,
It is prerequisite to have oracle 10.2.x
release of oracle database.ECC 6.0 doesn't support
lower than 10.2.x not even 10.1.x.
So upgrade ur database before
upgradation.
Please revard me points if u find this answer helpful.
Thanks & Regards
Aditya Kumar

Supported release/OS/DB combinations can be found in the Product Availablility Matrix available on the Service Marketplace (http://service.sap.com) quicklink /pam.

please check for going to 64 Bit when upgrading to ECC 6.0.
32 Bit is reaching its limits.
by the way:
4.6C running a 6.20 Kernel ??? I learned that this will not work.

Peter

Hi!
ECC 6.0 only supports Oracle 10.2.0.2 version. Do not install any other version other than this. So it is must for ECC 6.0. Please check the SAP ECC 6.0 install doc for details.
Please also install latest DB patches for that.
thanks,
Pratip
