Oracle DB ver. for ECC 6.0

We are just in the planning for doing an upgrade from

4.6C to ECC 6.0.

Our 4.6C is running on Windows and with an Oracle DB(, kernelrelese is 6.20.

The question is now, must we upgrade the DB to 10.2 or is this just "best practice". I have not found any document stating that version 10.2 is a must for ECC 6.0. Does anyone have any info about this.

please check for going to 64 Bit when upgrading to ECC 6.0.

32 Bit is reaching its limits.

by the way:

4.6C running a 6.20 Kernel ??? I learned that this will not work.

ECC 6.0 only supports Oracle version. Do not install any other version other than this. So it is must for ECC 6.0. Please check the SAP ECC 6.0 install doc for details.

Please also install latest DB patches for that.
