ODS data does activate automatically?

Dear BWers,

I have an ODS object which has the option checked for "Activate ODS object data automatically" in its maintenence settings. However when i load data into this ODS it does not automatically activate the data although the load is green. Can somebody please throw some light on this? Many thanks for the help.

Hi,

Even if the setting is set to activate it in the ODS, this will be useful for loading via PC. Otherwise you need to activate manually.

Dear Ray,

I have the same problem in new bi release 7.0.

I defined a datastore with automatic activation of request but when I load data activation job doesn't start even though the request is green....

Is possibile this is a new feature of BW 2004s?

Hi Raj,

I suggest the followings steps:

1)Run the load in a process chain, dont forget to include "Activation ODS" Process in the Chain

2)After that , check if the activation was succefull, if not check in SM37 if there was any cancel job (ODSACT..)

3)If you found a cancel job, it would be possible that you have a problem with the space on disk, this is a comun issue during the activation.

Hi Raj,

I was referring to the option in Parameters of ODS you are talking about in your previous message, nothing more.

Have you checked for TableSpace space during upload ? Maybe is only a problem of space.

Try to upload ODS also via Process Chain, introducing the step of activation.

Hi Raj,

If you are uploading this ODS via Process Chain you must introduce the activation tool in PC, also if you have flag in ODS.
