Can someone tell me how do we deal with objects which are there in BW System but do not belong to the standard info cube / infosource / datasource that I am looing at . Eg:
0DISTR_CHAN : But I need this in 0IC_C03 and it is not a part of the cube / info source / datasource. And it is there in R/3 : Table : VBAK, Field : VTWEG
Thanks
Any Ideas

Hi Roberto,
To elaborate the situation ,: I had this requirement to capture " Out of stock rate " in terms of
Product Hierarchy, Material #/ISBN, Title Status, Copyright Yr, Pub-Date, Material Type, All Material Groups, Construction, By Day, By Market, Distribution Channel, Bill-to/Sold-to Customer, by Sales Rep .
I know I can get stock information from the 0IC_C03 and I need to enhance it with the rest of the fields like dist channel. Would an ABAP code solve this issue.

Is it easier to build a multi cube with sales .

Bhanu,
the problem is that the distribution channel can't be linked to any object in the stock flow !
The only link is the material, but as you can better understand from TVKOV table (in which you find distribution channel master data), the object is strongly related to the sales process and there is no sense to say that every material movement refers to a distribution channel !!!
Who would be able to tell me that , R/3 or the BW Functional team ?? What is the other way to achieve this linkage.

Hi Brian,
you can add easily a new object even if the std doesn't provide it. The real problem is how to feed it, but this is more a functional problem than a technical one. In other words you have to decide how you can link the distribution channel to every material movement coming from 2LIS_03_BF...if you know how to do it (from a functional point of view), you can easily enhance the datsource and we can guide you in this task !
Hope it helps!
Bye,
Roberto
