No listener listening on port 50000 after restart Netweaver CE 7.2

Former Member

I installed Netweaver CE 7.2 MaxDB on Solaris 10 x64 then deployed ACC on it.

It used to work well until after a restart, there is no listener listening on port 50000.

The url is http://<IP>:50000/, which is not responding.

Because a java component hung, I called "stopsap j2ee" then "startsap j2ee".

But I found there is no listener on port 50000. Then I called "stopsap all", reboot the local zone where sap runs on, "startsap all".

I noticed there is "Unable to open trace file sapstartsrv.log." but don't know if this is the cause. I can not find anything related in SAP notes.

1. First check the file sapstartsrv.log in /usr/sap/C72/J00/work.(also check the file system and other log/trace files in that location)

2. Then execute stopsap j2ee

3. Make sure no process running for c72adm.

4. cleanipc 00 remove

5. startsap

Let us know what the outcome.

Thanks for all the reply! The issue I found is rather on database. For some reason db can not startup. Still troubleshooting

In the database server, issue the following to start x_server

/sapdb/programs/bin>

x_server start

after that, startsap.

Your previous info states you were able to start the database.

I am not sure what changes happened.

Hi Vijay, thanks for your patience. I rebooted the local zone now db can startup well. But after startsap there is no listener listeining. I checked the log, there is no error during startup. I tried to cleanipc but it's not helping:

stopsap j2ee and make sure no process running for c72adm

At this stage,You need to look at the log/trace (dev_bootstrap, dev_jcontrol,dev_server0 & std*) in /usr/sap/C72/JC00/work for more information.

Hi Sherry,

Please check the instase number and use the lisner port like 500xx

Please check following things :-

- Database server service in service.msc and start as automatic

- update JAVA_HOME system variavle in Enviromental variable in my computer

- Update host file entry for your server

For more detail check the server Default trace log flle

hope it helps
