New users can't log on to Integration builder

Hello everybody,

I have renamed an user in our XI system to a new username. Although the user could log on to integration builder before renaming and nothing was changed in the roles assigned to the user, after renaming the user, the user can't log on to integration builder. I've tried again, this time I deleted the user and newly created it and gave the user all the roles he had before, still the user can't log on to integration builder. I assigned all built-in SAP_XI-Roles to the user. The error message says: User unknown or wrong password.

Am I missing something?

The J2EE stack uses UME on the ABAP stack. Sometimes changes on ABAP may take a while to take in effect on J2EE side. Do the following to see whether any of them helps:

1. Log on to ABAP via SAPGUI at least once so you can change the password for the new user from the initial password.

2. Check whether the user is locked for some reason (you can tell this by doing the above).

3. Restart the whole XI server (this will refresh all the caches).
