.NET Common Language ABAP

Hi,

I am working with a client who is trying to determine the best alternate development platform to select. .NET versus a strictly J2EE environment. With Microsoft's Common Language Runtime and the ability to integrate additional languages into the .NET infrastructure, has anyone created and setup the ability to use ABAP directly in Visual Studio as an alternate language to VB.NET or C#? This would provide a great capability for ABAP knowledgable programers to quickly pick up Visual Studio and begin developing .NET apps using the ABAP language they already know.

Any information would be appreciated.

Regards,

-Jon

Hi Jon,

this might be a nice idea. Unfortunately it is not an easy task to make a virtual machine accept a new language. Together with the fact that ABAP especially gains from it's specific environment it lives in, this would make life much more complicated.

I'll try to find one of our ABAP guru's to answer this.

Regards,

Benny
