Need to write UDF to remove special characters in file

Hi,

I need UDF for removing special characters in source field, my scenario is SFTP to RFC, from source side we are getting .csv file and some time this file contain special characters in text filed like below

<text>1234-11 FOUR DEEPH NEWQ SFOUR 33Z NEWQ-GG-1234-11-RGBW RGBW LED Z-FOUR 123V</text>

i want remove this  characters and update in blank space like this

<text>1234-11 FOUR DEEPH NEWQ S FOUR 33Z NEWQ-GG-1234-11-RGBW RGBW LED Z-FOUR 123V</text>

Could you please help me on this how to write a UDF

Hello Jagadeesh,

I had the same issue some time ago.

You could open the file in a Hex Editor and check why Hexadezimal Value or what Symbol this is.

Then in the Mapping you could filter this value like this:

I was down that road also. PI is not particularly good at data cleansing 😉 Seems reasonable enough for the problem at hand, if the non-supported characters are limited to but a few
