Need to Enhance the Master Data

Dear Experts,

I heartily thank you all experts for the support.And will always be thankful to you.

I have a requirement like : I need to pull add the field ( XXX ) from MARA table. And replicate the same to BW side for the availability in the Sales Report (2LIS_13_VDITM).

That means , I need to enhance the Material Master . Will it make any problem like; Deletion of Master Data and all ?

Hi Sanjana,

No need to delete master data from MARA table.what ever field you want to add to MARA table add that field to MARA table using .INCLUDE functionality.

After adding the field to MARA table, u can enhnace your Extract structure.for that enhacing field system does not provide any data.

For poulating the data to that field, u can use enhancement RSAP0001.

In that Enhancement use function modules for master data are : EXIT_SAPLRSAP_002 - attributes

EXIT_SAPLRSAP_003 - texts

EXIT_SAPLRSAP_004 - hierarchies.

After that replicate data source into BI SIDE.

Hi ,

Either MARA table or 2LIS_13_VDITM data source not for master data, if you need to add new field from MARA to data source 2LIS_13_VDITM, then that will be transaction data, if this is you requirment, then you need to write customer exit to populate the new field to supply data to BW. replicate the data source to BW, re-init the info pack to make sure data will be populated for new field.

It shouldnt require any deletion of masterdata as you are just enhancing the extractor to add a new field.
