1. Technically possible, however should not be done as it will take long time and keep systems occupied. Also any interruption will ruin entire client copy.
2. Client export import is your solution instead of client copy. They will do same activity.
In client copy but system should be online, accessible and available until client copy completes.
With Client export import, you first export source client and then import it in target system. The files created in export are very small (nearly 1/10) of actual database size and can be ftp.
