Navigation Tag library : <lyt:container>

Former Member

hi,

From my basic research, I found that <lyt:container id="navPanelContainer" /> uses the default iview tray for displaying its iviews in the container using Navigation Tag Library.

It is mentioned that this one calls the default iview tray.. if so..could you please let me know where can i find the code for the default iview Tray..

So that I can create a "containerwithtraydesign"..and use that default code and add a line at the bottom of iview tray.

Please help me in this regard.

Thank you

Hi Yoga,

Thanks for the information.Yeah I was going through those docs and created a couple of trays..but they doesnt look like the default one....so i wanted to know if there is a possibility to find out the code for the default tray that is used in all the containers..

then it would be very easy for me..as i want the same look and feel of default tray with the "expand/collapse" icons hidden.

Thank you

Hi,

The standard tray is created using HTMLB and is internal code that is not exposed.

Sorry.

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for the reply.. I found a workaround...luckily the code was in light_Waandnavpanel.jsp.

1. I downloaded com.sap.portal.layouts.framework.par

2. Just took out the following code from light_WAandNavPanel.jsp and put that in WAandNavPanel.jsp

Hi,

That is your job to implement. You can see that the light page toolbar also doesnot have a dropdown menu anymore, and instead displays separate buttons for activating the page functions.

Hi Daniel,

Thank you for the reply again. As you said light_WAandNavPanel.jsp doesnt have the options menu (with details, refresh, "open in a new window").

Also, this light_WAandNavPanel.jsp doesnt have the separte buttons (for open in a new window, refresh, details etc...) that you were mentioning.

I dont know if this is intentional by SAP or am I missing something.

Thank you

Hi,

The tray in the navigation panel does not need the options menu since in this panel you get links to other iViews -- not iViews them. Note that the standard navigation panel tray does not include these options.

In addition, the light page toolbar -- in com.sap.portal.navigation.pagetoolbar application, lightPageToolbar.jsp -- displays the options not as a dropdown but as a series of links.

In other words, SAP provides a solution that is implemented as a series of links and not as a dropdown list. If you want a dropdown list, that is up to you to implement. I would imagine that someone has implemented such a dropdown list in Javascript -- not HTMLB -- but I do not know.

Hope this helps.
