MultiProvider -Options

Hi Experts,

Currently we are using multiprovider in top of info-cubes for Reporting. As we are using multiprovider in our project, is it not necessary to do Rollup and compression on the cube.Pl explain.Thanks in Advance

Dear Param,

By this time you would have understood that a Multiprovider never stores any data. It just fetches data from the base ODS, Infocubes and presents in the report.

For this reason, you dont have to or you cant even do compression or rollup since data a multiprovider is not a data container.

It is enuf if the base ODS and Infocubes are compressed ( if required) and rolledup

How r u ?

Its how u require. The performance is same in both, even if u use a MultiProvider the data comes from the Cube only. We cannot say it is not needed.

Hi param,

you have to make Compression and, if you need, build Aggregates for every cube under the MultiProvider, because the Multiprovider will read the correspective data comressed or aggregates.
