Missing privileges to publish the changes on Budget version

Hello,

I am setting up DAC (Data access control) on Company code level. To verify the authorizations, I am running the data action in story and it failed to update the data in Budget version. The error message showing you are missing privileges to publish the changes on Budget version.

For my requirement DAC only for Company code and not required to Version dimension.

After Roles and Teams setup in system, Users are able to access the stories by required Company code. But DA unable to update the data in Budget version. (Publishing data through DA)

How to update/write data in any version (Budget). And What configuration is missing.

See, I have seen many many such issues 🙂 from my experience..

Try following -

1. folder access

2. make sure version is accessible for user

3. Dimension update access

4. and last which usually is the case after ruling out normal issues, sometimes developer mistakenly uses # as reference in his DA. So in this case, either developer would have to change the data action or you would need to provision access at # level for that dimension. Let me know if it works.

@Vasu_Sac 1. Read access to DA folder. Manage (Edit) access to folder having models.... 2. If model data privacy is switched on, Version by default becomes secure. if not activated, then fine....... 3. try giving once through task role. ............. Also Vasu, even if it is folder access issue, role task missing, or Version issue, The error will always be same. Missing privileges to publish the changes on version

Is the model shared with user with maintain right?

Model was shared with View mode, After changing to Edit mode, Users are able to save the data.

I assumed that when we enable dimension as DAC, it provides Read and Write access, So If we maintain different teams to access Read or Write. This way we can control the users or teams to read or write. But it's not correct.

So what is the use of Read and Write options at Dimension level, if we enable with view/edit/full access at Model and Story.

Hi #SahilTaneja Thanks for your inputs.

1. folder access - Do you mean the folder which contains DA? I given authorization to Individual Data Actions instead of folder.

2. make sure version is accessible for user - My Version is not enabled DAC, So I think all versions are accessible to all users.

3. Dimension update access - No new Dimensions are updating in my DA, hence I Provided read access for all dimensions in role. And my DA against all measures with existing dimension members for Company code.

4. you would need to provision access at # level for that dimension. - In my case I am working against Company Code, So there is data generation at # level for company code.

If you see my error message - "you are missing privileges to publish the changes on Budget version". I don't know what is the issue with Data saving in Version(Budget)
