Dear Experts,

I am about to start working on Bex migration project.

i have some case scenerios......that need to be clear:

1. Query is in 3.x, MS Office 2003 workbook..... now migrated to BI 7.0 workbook still in MSO 2003.... Do you need to check macros... or migrate it.

2. Query is in 3.x, MS Office 2003 workbook..... now migrated to BI 7.0 workbook still in MSO 2007.... Do you need to check macros... or migrate it.

3. Query is in BI 7, MS Office 2003 workbook..... now MSO upgraded to 2007 ....... Do you need to check macros... or migrate it.

plz help..!!

Thanks Umesh for your help.

But as migration is very new to me, i would really like to know the reason behind the need to check the macros in all the three scenerios seperately.

Hi Anupam

One of the primary reasons to check the migration would be because of the change the version of BI. In fact, the scenario wherein you are migrating BI from 3.5 to 7.0 is all Ok - since we are not migrating the platform which hosts the results (here i mean MSO). but when you migrate from MSO 2003 to 2007 then it is highly recommended to check the macros as the way macros are handled in a MSO migration is not clear and could raise issues when you are deriving results.
