Hello,
How can I migrate from application which is using webservices and was developed on BEA Weblogic to WAS 6.40 ?
Is it possible ? I think that WAS 6.40 doesn's support now full 1.4 compliants, so is a webservices occurence in application case that needs, recoding ? or the implementation of webservice support in WAS 6.40 follows 1.4 standart ?
Thanks for any help,
Best regards,
Miroslav Koskar
Hi Mirsolav,
yes, SAP Web AS 6.40 supports Web Services both at runtime and design time. The tools support creation of Web Services from Java beans and session EJBs with a bunch of configuration options.
Have a look at: <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/d6/f9bc3d52f39d33e10000000a11405a/frameset.htm">Providing and Consuming Web Services</a> on http://help.sap.com.
This site also contains a list of the currently supported Web Service related standards.
Best regards,
Rudi

btw.: you are right, SAP Web AS 6.40 supports J2EE 1.3, a spec that does not require Web Service support. But since Web Services are key to SAP we have been providing Web Service functionality even since SAP Web AS 6.20.

Hello Miroslav,
in the migration guide http://media.sdn.sap.com/html/submitted_docs/sap_j2ee_migration_kit_webpages/external_docs/SAP_J2EE_...
you can find a comparison on how to deal with Web Services on BEA WebLogic and SAP WebAS (pages 13 + 14).
Best regards,
Juergen
