Migrate- SQL Anywhere to SQL Server for all CMC and Audit

Hello There,

We have install SAP BO 4.2 SP4 on Linux with JBoss. At the time of installation there was no option to use SQL Server for CMC and Audit purposes so We have taken the SQL Anywhere(default) as an option.

Could you please provide detailed steps to have SQL Server (2016) for CMC and Audit purposes?

Our Client is not willing to keep SQL Anywhere as a database nor wants to run the SQL Anywhere server.

Kindly note that-- Our universe is already connected to SQL Server (added DNS and its working fine). This request is not to configure SQL Server for reporting purpose. Reports are running fine with SQL Server.

Additionally, I have added two DNS(s) for SQL Server to migrate from SQL Anywhere to SQL Server.

1. ba_cmc
2. ba_audit -- this user is default to BO_AUDIT database.

Pardon me, if above explanation found confusing. Please don't hesitate to ask, if something is not clear.

Kindly do the needful.

Thanks In Advance,

MS SQL server is not a supported DB for the CMS DB on Linux/Unix, per PAM :

https://support.sap.com/content/dam/launchpad/en_us/pam/pam-essentials/SBOP_BI_42.pdf

So, you cannot use it for your BI 4.2 on Linux.

Hello Mani,
Thanks for the link. The link is showing the steps if the installation is Windows based.

This is Linux based installation. Any help is appreciated.
