Hello,

I am relatively new to CR. Is there a way to merge group? In the attached screenshot, I want to merge 1 and 2 from the pull down. Any thoughts on this will be appreciated. Thanks.

Regards,

Amol

You could create a formula that looks something like this:

If {myTable.GroupField} in [1,2] then 1 else {myTable.GroupField}

Then you would group on the formula instead of the field.

Hey Amol,

if you add this Formula "fmlGroup" to your report show should see in the report result somethink like that

                              Original Field               fmlGroup

Row1                              1                            1

Row2                              2                            1

Row3                              5                            5

Row4                              2                            1

could you check this?

And then you have to create to group but NOT on the Original Field. You have to create a group with the field fmlGroup.

Best regards

Hi Dell & Carsten,

I appreciate your quick response to my question. I tried using the formula you suggested but still was not able group. I tried using the formula Dell posted: if {JobItems.Item_Number} in [1,2] then 1 else {JobItems.Item_Number}.

Following is the screenshot in which I'm grouping by {JobItems.Item_Number}. Need help in this. Stuck with this issue for too long.

Thanks,

Amol

Hey Amo,

first question did you create the group in the New Formular???

What i See is that you Groupies by your original Field!

OK if you have Build the New Formula äs mentioned by Dell please add the forumla to your Report. In all rows were your original Field is 1 or 2 you have to See 1! then create a Group in this formulafield

best regards

carsten

sorry for the Bad Form if Wrote it withe my phone

Carsten,

I created the formula and added in the report. I am not able to understand the second part (In all rows were your original Field is 1 or 2 you have to See 1! then create a Group in this formulafield)you suggested. I am new to CR. I would appreciate if you could help in this. Thanks, again.

Hey yes i think Dell your solution would work.

Create a own formula with the field on which you would like to grouß your report. In this formula merge 1 and 2 like

if Group=1 or Group=2 then 1 else group.

Then you could use this formula for grouping.

But you only will get then the groups 1,3,4,5 and so on.
