MDS loading master data from MDC

Hello,

I want to know when we load master data from MDC to MDS initially, do we have fixed set of attributes for each master data object or do we need to define set of attributes for each object. If we have to load master data from different vendor ERP systems then we would have different attributes for same master data object. So, do we have to define common set of attributes for similar master object. Do we have any option in MDM to create customer specific master data object.

I also want to know how many different predefined object types are available and how many predefined business scenarios.

Answer 1) The SAP delivered extractors always extract a complete Master Data record with all attributes from a client system. XI mapps these attributes into the MDM structure, so that the records are afterwards stored in a temporary staging area on MDM. If in addition data are now extracted from a third party client, SAP has no control about the attributes extracted. The final decision, whta attributes are transferred to the MDM staging area, is done via the XI-mapping.

Answer 2) With MDM 3.0 customers can use the Master Data Framework to define their own object types.

Answer 3) Out of the box 5 object types are delivered (Business Partner, Product, Product Structure, Technical Asset, Document) and 3 Business Scenarios (COntent Consolidation, Master Data Harminization and Central Master Data Management).
