MDAS error

Hi there,

Please help me in fixing the issue, I tried creating OLAP connection to Microsoft cubes and which was successful. But when we try to create a workspace from BO analysis, I see the below error.

Please advice.

From the machine it says "MDAS service is running and that the database client software has been installed on the machine hosting the MDAS service"

- I checked in the server which DEV and APS server is running fine with Multi-Dimensional analysis service.

- Do we need the client software ( Microsoft ) on the server ???

I've never seen that proxy error message before. Specifically what steps did you perform immediately prior to the proxy error message appearing?

Which version of BI4 are you using? (I am assuming BI4.1 SP3+).

Please look at the Administrator Guide for Analysis OLAP (SAP BusinessObjects Analysis, edition for OLAP 4.1 – SAP Help Portal Page) and review the content in 8.5.2 "Connection settings for Microsoft Analysis Services data sources" and section 13 "Microsoft Analysis Services Considerations".

Yes version is 4.1 SP3.

Only step I did is create OLAP connection in CMC and starting using the tool in BI launchpad.

Could you please restart the APS server and try to create workspace.

I tried restarting the APS server couple of times but no luck.

Hi RUC,

Could you please try this below workaround to resolve this issue.

1. Create New server and in service category select "Analysis services" and Select only "Multi-Dimensional Analysis service”
2. Start this new server and enable, and try to create workspace.
