Hi

Masterdata cannot have duplicate SID's as SID is an Unique Numeric ID which connects the dimension tables of the infocube to that of the master data tables.

Hope this helps.

Hi

Master data cannot have duplicate SID entries. suppose let's take a scenario u have CID characteristic , so whenever u activate the IO the master data table will be activated . and the SID will be generated whenever u load the master data , suppose for example let us take the below table

For the first time u have loaded C100,C200 values , so that value will be inserted into the SID table as

SID CID

123 C100

124 C200

so after again if u load the C100 into the master data table then at this time the C100 will not be loaded and in master data table for each record there will be different SID value generated and they are of format INT4.

Hope u got it,

Hi,

Basically SID's are autogenerated by SAP, you might find the same SID's are getting used in multiple systems but in a system for a Infoobject you will have all unique values maintained.

Hi Sweth,

I don't think that is possible as there must be a secondary index. Also there is a primary key which doesnot allow duplicate values.

Hope this clarifies.
