Hi,
For content server we are using CS 6.4, maxdb 7.0 on windows. We need to add more space.
The maxdb help says about db_addvolume command. Is it the correct way to add space in maxdb used for content server.
Looking for any relevant inputs.
Anirudh,
Hi Anirudh,
Its very easy... open Database manager just go to the configuration tab and click on volumes... you'll see active volumes and inactive ones, double click on one of the inactive and enter size and location, that will create more space.
In the case you don't see any inactive volumes then you need to change the paremater MAXDATAVOLUMES or MAXLOGVOLUMES in order to be add additional volumes.
Regards
Juan

Hi Juan,
correct answer!
Just a quick remark: the mentioned parameters cannot be changed and activated online, but the MaxDB instance needs to be bounced to get the new values active.
Anyhow, with the recent versions of MaxDB this will be done automatically on database restart.
So whenever you've no more datavolumes to add, after the next restart the MAXDATAVOLUME parameter will be increased by 10 (until the maximum number is reached, of course).
All in all, this question is just another case where the documentation would have helped:
