Hi Gurus!!

I have 1 doubt, What is the mas length of a xml file in SAP XI?

I have eared that is 1 Gb, but I'm not sure.

Thanks and regards,

Manuel Míguez.

There is no such theoretical limitation of size. Everything depends upon the hardaware and network configuration in your landscape.

Hello Prateek,

I have seen that exists a parameter on the ICM (icm/HTTP/max_request_size_KB) that allows to set the mas size of a request, default value is 2Mb and the mas value is 2 Gb. Do you know if this parameter could limit the Size of XML processing?

Thanks and regards,

Manuel Míguez.

Yes, you are on the right track. This parameter definitely configures max payload size acceptable by ICM and in turn XI message processing. Try not to increase this value more that 2GB.

your observation is right,

I don't know the exact message size but when it goes beyond limit it gives error of ICM_HTTP Timeout or Connection error, I faced it in one of my scenario, and after reducing the no. of record it was resolved.

so better to ask SAP about this.

Hi Manuel,

all these parameters are very theoretical. In praxis the size is limited by the used hardware and even more dependend from the message flow. Any mapping will reduce the max limit extremly.
