Material hierarchy

Hi experts,

Is there any how-to guide for charging hierarchys from R3 to a BW system?

I am trying to do it wit a material hierarchy but i don't know even how to begin,

Artur,

There are two ways in which you can have hierarchies in BW

1. Manullay build a hierarchy for 0MATERIAL using tcode RSH1. However you need to maintain this manually everytime there is a change

2. Load Hierarchy from R/3 into BW. There would be DataSources available for Importing hierarchies. This is available under Master data. Go to InfoSource and search for 0MATERIAL. Expand it and you can view the Tree icon. Choose the context menu to create a Transfer Rule. It will then list the available Hierarchy DS (_HIER). Select it and follow the steps. Once the TR is in place, create an InfoPackage. If there are multiple Hierarchies available in R/3, select the one that you wish to load at this step.

Further include this InfoPackage in your daily Process Chain to load any changes to the hierachy and the change would be automatically reflected in BW
