Maintenance of Rules for Inbound Email Distribution (SO50) and the Exit code.

For many years we’ve employed an Exit in ECC to process custom workflow via Outlook. I won’t review the process as many of you are already familiar with:

We’re implementing S4 and I copied the Exit class code and configured SCOT as it is in our ECC system. The Exchange guys did their magic and emails sent to a specific address are successfully entering the system, as reveled in SOIN.

However, the Exit is not being triggered and I don’t know why. I’m very familiar with how to debug the Exit (SICF user, External BP, etc.) but it’s simply not being executed. Every other piece of this puzzle appears to be in place and is working. I can’t get over this last hurdle.

We got this to work by changing the document class from ICS to *. I don't know what that affects. Can someone tell me the purpose of the ICS value?
