Macros in BPS Planning layouts

Former Member

Dear all,

how can we certify macros for the internal use within a company? Our problem: macros in the planning layouts do not run with security set to anything higher then "low". SAP Support says we need to certify our makros, e.g. with verity. However, we really only do formatting things extending the SAPAfterDataPut macros. Layouts will be used purely within the company, so why do we need external certificates?

Our problem: Any extension to the SAPAfterDataPut, be it even very small, leads to the system disabling the macros with the reason of a conflict with the sap certificate.

Thanks for any help!!!

Hello Andreas,

if you make modifications to the macros you have the option of signing them again. You need your own certificate to do this. If your company is doing other VBA development it is likely that your company already owns a VBA code signing certificate. You could then use this certificate to sign the BPS macros. Otherwise, you can get a new certificate. Please see SAP note 574240 for more information (including a link to the Microsoft website that explains this concept in general).
