Hello,
we need to move the location of LSMW's temporary files (*.lsmw.read and *lsmw.conv) from DIR_HOME outside SAP application server. For that we have mounted the file share on our system at /mnt/data_lsmw.
In transaction FILE we've configured logical path /SAPDMC/LSMW_FILE_LP with physical path /mnt/data_lsmw/<FILENAME>
and logical file /SAPDMC/LSMW_FILE pointing to logical path above and no physical file name because each LSMW uses different names.
Now, the existing LSMW, step 'Read data' writes *.lswm.read file still to DIR_HOME, while steps 'Display data' and 'Convert data' look for it in directory configured in FILE.
When we try to specify files again we can't enter a valid name unless the same is already saved in logical file.
How can we configure that properly ?
Additionally, on the internet I've seen examples where the popup for converted data file had 3 fields: file name, logical path and logical name. In our system we only have 1 field for file name.
Do we need to change some settings to get all fields in the popup ?
And finally can this change be made globally because we don't want to go and change each of hundreds LSMWs in the system.
Regards,
Lukasz
Edit.
Attached pic1 is what I've found on the internet, pic2 and 3 are definitions of logical path and file.
We've changed the directory to /data_TH1/<FILENAME>. This is reachable from AL11.
Pic4 is the error that we're getting in specify files. Proposed filename with / is not accepted.
We only have 1 field there.
Before changing this, it was just the file name (works only with DIR_HOME). With any other directory this step accepts no values. Unless a physical file name is saved in logical file.
Open dataset opens the file exactly where specify files says, so in case of DIR_HOME it's created there.
As said, no other path allows for specifying *.read and *.conv names. Also with full path - pic5.
It probably would be possible if we had those 2 additional fields.
Request clarification before answering.
