License of SAP Records Management (RM, now SAP Folder Management)

Does anyone know if sap records management needs a license and if so, how much does it cost?,

Hi Carlos!

What system are You talking about? S/4 HANA (on premise) or SAP ERP ECC 6.0? I'm asking because different terms apply. As for S/4 HANA (on premise) Folders Management are free off-charge as this functionality became a part of Netweaver platform. Look-up following notes:

• Note 2424679 (2424679 - [INFORMATION] Folders Management in S/4HANA On Premise)
• Note 1253625 (1253625 - Release strategy for SAP Records Management/SAP NetWeaver Folders Management....

If we are speaking about SAP ERP ECC 6.0 and lower, then using SAP Folders Management requires licences which only can be bought in packages (it's better to ask your local SAP representative). As I remember, one package (about 7500 records) cost 1000 EUR a few years ago.

As I read in note 1253625 became Folders Management an integral part of netweaver stack in July 1st 2017.

I will interprete this, that Folders Management does not need an additional license in ECC 6.0, too.

Hi, Wolfgang ( @ws333 ),

I'm afraid that it would be incorrect to consider no additional licences for NWFM in ECC 6.0. As I know, it only applies to S4 as ECC 6.0 was released way earlier than 2017 (and NWFM still was a separate product at that time).
