License for Adobe LiveCycle Designer

Hi All,

I went through the Adobe website and found out that we require license for ALD 8.0.

Do we require license for using ALD 7.0 also?

And I have downloaded ALD 8.0 from service marketplace, in that case do we have to purchase license from Adobe?

Hi Amit,

You do not need a specific license for Adobe LiveCycle Designer if you download it from SAP's Service Marketplace and you use it only for development of SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe.

SAP has some FAQs describing when interactive forms have to be licensed (with SAP and not Adobe).

Thanks for your replies, but what about licenses for ALD 7.0, is it a freeware? Or we require license for this also?

Hi Amit,

Designer 7.0 is not freeware. You should at least use Designer 7.1 and depending on your NW release you might want to consider a more recent version (i.e. Designer 8.0 for NW 7.0 SP13 and later).
