Hi Team,
We are trying to move KM content from DEV to QA. When we upload the ".kmc" downloaded from DEV into QA upload is happening. But when we see the pending imports screen the package is not visible. Even it is not visible in ~system ..> expimp...>import...>pending folder.
But when i try to re upload the same file i get an exception that the file already exists "The name you specified is not unique in the folder "import"".
I tried all possibilities given in the sdn forums like uploading only .kmc and not .zip , disk space is available.
but in one of the forums where in a member has a similar issue as mine /message/10733393#10733393 [original link is broken]
has resolved the issue re uploading the kmc file. I would like to know the exact par file name to be re uploaded into QA system. and will there be any unwanted changes when re uploaded for ex : CM config changes and all as mentioned in the above mentioned link.
regards
Bharat

Did you try to upload it in ZIP format? I know it is said not to upload in a ZIP, but sometimes when KMC isn't working, ZIP might too get uploaded and processed. Try it once.

This isn't related to any PAR file. PAR files have different function altogether. What I am saying is, try to upload in .zip format. I know you are uploading in .kmc, but I wanted to let you know that sometimes, .zip workes without any problem though it is suggested to use .kmc.
Tell me one thing, are you changing the name of the generated file? Do not change the name, keep the name as it is and upload in .zip format. Let me know if you face any problem.

Hi,
Instead of checking in KM ExpImp folder pls check in the server location of this folder. Also Try placing the file directly in the server location on the pending imports folder. If it throws any exception (like name already exists), then just rename with "_1" and then place it in the server folder. Now navigate to portal content admin ->KM Content -> Pending import in your QA System. This will defnitely work. Try this.
Thanks,
Mahe B.
Dear Mahe,
having the same problem, I just stumbled over this long aged thread here.
Mahe, could you please state the server path if this /~system/ExpImp/import/pending folder on the server's file system?
No matter the exact OS, an explanation, where it is roughly located, is absolutely sufficient
Kind regards,
Sascha.
