Hello Experts,

can you share your understanding and effect on a Key Figure, to help improve on my reading on the Aggregate tab under key figures?

For example, if I chose TYPE as NUMBER and Data Type as DEC, what is the effect of the Aggregation tab:

Aggregation: SUMMATION

Exception Aggregat.: Summation

Aggreg. Ref Char: ocalmonth

Cummulative/non-cu,mulative values

I will appreciate your ideas on this tab.

Thanks in advance.

Key Figure Type: Specify the type. Amounts and quantities need unit fields.

Data Type: Specify the data type. For the amount, quantity, and number, you can choose between the decimal number and the floating point number, which guarantees more accuracy. For the key figures date and time, you can choose the decimal display to apply to the fields.

Aggregation:

There are three aggregation options:

Minimum (MIN): The minimum value of all values displayed in this column is displayed in the results row.

Maximum (MAX): The maximum value of all values displayed in this column is displayed in the results row.

Summation (SUM): The sum of all values displayed in this column is displayed in the results row.

Exception Aggregation:

This field determines how the key figure is aggregated in the Business Explorer in relation to the exception characteristic. This reference characteristic must be unique in the query. In general, this refers to time.

For Example - The key figure Number of Employees would, for example, be summed using the characteristic Cost Center, and not a time characteristic. Here you would determine a time characteristic as an exception characteristic with, for example, the aggregation Last Value.

Flow/Non-Cumulative Value:

You can select the key figure as a cumulative value. Values for this key figure have to be posted in each time unit, for which values for this key figure are to be reported.

Non-Cumulative with Non-Cumulative Change:

The key figure is a non-cumulative. You have to enter a key figure that represents the non-cumulative change of the non-cumulative value. There do not have to be values for this key figure in every time unit. For the non-cumulative key figure, values are only stored for selected times (markers). The values for the remaining times are calculated from the value in a marker and the intermediary non-cumulative changes.

Non-Cumulative with inflow and outflow: The key figure is a non-cumulative. You have to specify two key figures that represent the inflow and outflow of a non-cumulative value.
