Joining data of different tables for publishing

Hi,

I am trying to display data across multiple tables in my publications, but I am hitting a roadblock.

I have a main table for Products which has a Taxonomy lookup for Categories. The "Categories" table has an image field called "Category Icon". When I pull the records up in the layout mode, the image field of the category does not show up in the "Layout items".

But when I look at the InQuera catalog included with the MDM distribution, I can see fields such as "Manufacturer Logo [ADF]" and "Safety Icon [ADF]".

Can anyone help me out here? Also, what does ADF stand for? Additionally, is there a way to display text fields (like say, a category description)?

Regards,

Sayontan.

Hi,

You have to define Alternate Display Field (ADF) in the Console. Select your repository, and then in the tables pane, select Families. Then click on the Alternate Display Field (...) in the Table details pane. Give a name and select the path (which table and which field). This will appear in the layout items list with the ADF

Hope this helps
