Hi Experts,
I am unable to schedule backups from DBA cockpit and I am seeing continious error logs in SID.LOG AND SID_JSAGENT.LOG.
All the databses as well as table spaces are free.
I have restarted job scheduler but no luck. Please advice.

Hi Amarnath,
Can you confirm all your database connections are configured and working correctly.
Go to tcode DBACOCKPIT->
On the first page where you system configuration highlight the system and click test connection.
You should get result:

|
DBACOCKPIT -> System Landscape -> Database connections -> Expand Sybase remote connections
Highlight connection name should be +++SYBADM is your username specified sapsa?
Kind Regards,
Johan

Hi Amarnath,
I also follow the same strategy as you latest minus one. But in this case still you are still on 15.7 review what is fixed in SP135 and decide if you can live without those fixes. Otherwise apply the latest.
Refer to note 2073343 - SYB: Release information for SAP Sybase ASE 15.7 SP13x and review the attached cover letters for example Check cover letter 15-7-135_coverletters.zip which includes the details for each different OS and what is fixed.
But it seems the recommendation for 15.7 is to go SP135.
Kind Regards,
Johan
Hello Amarnath,
It will be useful to have your ASE version and NW version when you post a question.
Can you please let us know what you are using?
From the ASE errorlog and JSAGENT log file, it looks like ASE fails to connect to Job Scheduler Agent.
Thank you.

Hello Amarnath,
Great work in finding the sap note!
Yes, you will have to upgrade to the fixed version or even better to the latest version of ASE15.7 SP135 which is out or ASE 16.0 SP01 PL01 which is out. Please check out the SAP note 1554717: SAP release information for customers deploying SAP on (Sybase) ASE.
Hope this helps.
