hi can any one tell me following hinhs in ibm aix/db2 machine
1. how to set environment variables in aix machine ( like we set in windows machine)
2. how to increase swap (page memory ) in aix machine?
3. any extra points which i should take care of before i install on aix machine ( i have a well experience of installation on windows machines)

this is the data i got from the link whixch u gave first of all i really thanku very very much.

Execute: lsvg -l rootvg
-- See how many LPs currently make up your 512 MB
Execute: smitty pgsp
Change/show Characteristics
-- select hd6
-- Type in enough LPs to bring it up to 2 GB,
i.e. 3x the LP count for 512 MB, and press ENTER

actually the problem is i never seen aix screens. still can any body explain me a bit clearly.

Hi Akhil,
AIX is a basically UNIX but developed by IBM.. (as far as i know)
Basically you need to telnet into the system and run those commands in the AIX terminal,
If Telnet is enabled in the box just type in the windows command prompt telnet <hostname or ipaddress> -> Then you'll be prompted for username and password if you havent install the system the best is logon as root (Unix administrator account) and then just execute the commands you need.
If Telnet is not avalable you can download a little program called putty.exe and then just enter the hostname of the server you want to connect and again you'll get a terminal screen where you'll have to enter username and password... etc
