Dear all,

I am working on restoration of EP. I have installed EP on my server. when I m accessing the content administration using administrator Id, it initially shows java script error "access denied" followed any another error as "object required", and I am not able to see the pages and iViews, also I am not able to see different links con on portal content browser.

Please guide me to resolve this problem.

H I

Check

1. your administrator user part of "Administrators" group and have super amdin role.

2. check "Administrators" group has the "administrator" role

3. check the UME actions of "administrator" and "super administration role" role (compare with other portals).

are you able to create user in portal ? are able to login to Visaual admin tool? which EP version are you usiung?

Dear Shridhar

Everything is fine as per your check list. I am using EP 7.0, and also I am able to create new user. also I am able to work with Visual administrator. Now I am facing another problem that I am not able to work on the system for long time. the services interupted automatically and same time visual administrator also does not work, and it shows error "User Authentication failed" if I try to logon at that time.

Thanks for your help

Hi

issue : access denied.

access the portal URL with IP addresss(rather by host name)

Test these urls:

1. http://<host IP>:<port>/irj

2. http://localhost:port/irj ( login to OS of the portal and test this url)

and also check

in content Admin > right click on "Portal Content" click on "Permission"

check for "super_admin_role". with end user & role assigner ON.

if it is not there then go to

System administartion > click on "Permission" tab

> add "super administartion" role to "Portal conternt" with owner + end user + role assiner permission

and also add everyone gorup with read access + end user ON.

issue: portal crash

1. check the JVM configuration.

2. check the load on system

3. check the exit code of engine (\work\std_server)

4. check the Application thread value.

Hi,

Can you please tell me the restore procedure you have followed up did u take a complete nt back backup & recovery of all the systems disks or you have just backed up the necessary files and then installed new sap system and then performed a db restore and file system of usr/sap restore?

We are planning for a stand alone portal recovery.

Regards,

Vamshi.

Dear Vamshi,

For restoration, first, I installed a fresh system, then I restored db and file system /usr/sap/.

Do you have any idea, abot this process and its relation to my problem.

Dear Shridhar

I am using the same url u mentioned.

Actually I m not able to see any link for both content manager and system manger -> permission. the same errors ("object required" and "access is denied") are coming out there.

on my server command jlaunch is utilizing 99% of CPU. this value is constant.

for JVM can you tell me wat to check and where(location).

I also dont hv much idea about application thread value.

Please guide me for the issue.

Dear Virender,

Could you check your IE version from Help -> About Internet Explorer.

you should use IE6 SP2.. not less than that.

Thanks,
