Java patches issue

Hi Team,

I am trying to download 1 java patches.

1. When i am downloading it using IE 11, its extension is zip file. When downloading it from chrome its extension is .SCA.

2. After downloading using IE, i found that there is no application-j2ee-engine.xml in META-INF folder. As per my understanding, application-j2ee-engine.xml contains the information about container, which require to deploy the patches.

Would request you to please clear my doubt.

Regards

Shyam

Hi Shyam,

Yes it is true for IE and chrome, you should always use download manager to download the java patches.

application-j2ee-engine.xml is not mandatory for all the software components.

Hi Shyam,

yes, there is this difference in IE and Chrome, ZIP and SCA files. But this is happening in Netweaver 7.0X. This doesn't happening in 7.4 packages as example.

Regarding the application-j2ee-engine.xml, this is not a mandatory file for all packages. For example, I donwloaded the CORETOOLS14P_9-1006497.zip and also SCA and none of them have this file. But the SAP_MANIFEST.MF with many component information are there in both.

Thanks,
