JAAS Login Module

Hello Everybody,

I want to setup SSO between my window domain to the WAS applications. I have searched for that, and came to know that, i can do something using JAAS Login module.

My Windows domain uses Kerberos tickets. So, can i use this Kerberos ticket for SSO and validate in WAS? If yes then how can i do that?

From one of the post in this forum, I got some steps to do this. But in that, I have to create my own login module and then import it in Visual administrator. So. instead of this, can i get Kerberos login module readily available on Internet or in WAS?

I read somewhere that it is available in WAS SP12. But i didn't find it. So, where i need to check for the same?

Thanks in advance,

Bhavik

Hi Bhavik,

not an expert on the SSO subject, but could find some documents that could possibly help you in resolving your issues. Here they are:

SDN <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/nw/dotnet/using%20sap%20logon%20tickets%20for%20single%20sign%20on%20to%20microsoft%20based%20web%20applications.pdf">article</a>

SAP Library:

<a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/12/9f244183bb8639e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm">Single Sign-On to Non-SAP Systems and Applications</a>

<a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/a4/385bef3bd14241b9c4f36bd779537d/frameset.htm">Using Header Variables or Integrated Windows Authentication for User Authentication</a>

A paper on the Service Marketplace:

http://service.sap.com/security -> Security in detail -> Secure System Management -> Single Sign-On Using Microsoft 2000 Kerberos (or a quick link: https://service.sap.com/~sapdownload/011000358700007185582000E/SSO_MIT_KERBEROS.PDF)

If you have already seen those documents, disregard my message.

Good luck!

Hi Lvaylo,

Yes, i have seen those. But, my requiremnt is to use Kerberos tickets instead of SAP Logon tickets.

Second, I don't want to use IIS in between. The scenario is, I have .Net client which is accessing webservice deployed on WAS server. And the authentication would be done using Kerberos ticket and WAS should be able to undrstand this Kerberos ticket.

Hello everybody,

I found one java file for understanding Kerberos ticket from JDK 1.4 named KRB5Loginmodule.java. Is this file is usefull as Login module to validate kerberos ticket in WAS?

If yes, then how to use it in WAS?

I have my Webservice client which can be .NET client or Web based client. When it will call webservice, it should pass kerberos ticket to webservice and webservice should be able to understand this ticket and should give access to user for this webservice.

How can i do this?
