Is it possible to pass the login uid through a URL iview

Former Member

Hi everyone,

what i intended to do is pass the user name from a URL iview into a WAR or EAR or JSP or whatever application, not mentioning webdynpro development.

Maybe I can create a WD app, get <User.LogonUid> and then pass it  to the iFrame containing the JSP.

Or

I need to copy some essential JAR into my j2ee project, and get "IUser"

But I thought using URL iView would be simple. Any suggestion?

Thanks.

Hi,

Check out this step by step blog which explain how to pass dynamic parameters using Generic iView:

Hi,

For your purpose I suggest to use the appintegrator Generic iview.

https://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73/helpdata/de/49/cd18d831f22221e10000000a42189d/content.htm

Then you can use <User.LogonUid> or <User.UserID> .

They will be resolved in runtime by the portal application integration mechanism

and will provide the user logon id.

Hi,

First I have to "Create an Application Integrator Component", which means I need to do some initialising work in my app(jsp).

Then <User.LogonUid> or <User.UserID> would become available?

Rechecking your link...

Thanks.

Hi ,

in a url iView you can add parameters at thr table of the iview properties so use it like: NAME:userid OPERATOR:= VALUE:the user id value and so on

So, on this matter, I would appreciate if you could just spend a moment on the same matter mentioned in the below links that was reported earlier by our friends & hope that you would be able to get the exact solution for your issue,

Thanks,

Thanks for your advice, but why "could not save the iview"?

I've tried to change the URL to "...demo.sap.com~s_test/login.jsp" and got same info.

Only when I changed the parameter type to "String" instead of "Mapped User", could I save it.

Any idea?

Thanks.

Sorry, about this reply, I missed the first step which is to set up a system and put it into URL iview.

Actually, what I meant is to pass the SAP Portal's user name (or current user id) to my jsp.

Maybe I didn't state that clearly in my question. Sorry for that.

Any way to achieve that without coding?

Thanks.
