Hi team 😃,
I was working fine with SAPUI5 framework based FIORI apps. Recently I have enrolled in a CAPM training. I got an doubt that Is it possible to integrate a sapui5 BarcodeScanner in CAPM application. I searched for proper technical answer but found nothing. I understood that when it is about data manipulation we can do awesome job with CDS based JavaScript ecosystem, but when it is about implementing custom applications like scanner, camera is it feasible through CAPM. I am sorry if i have posted without proper understanding, I am still learning.
Hi,
CAP is a Backend technology providing APIs in the form of OData, REST and GraphQL. Maybe your misunderstanding comes from to the possibility to annotate the OData Service with UI annotations. That allow you to quickly get also SAP Fiori Element UIs. But of couse you can create also your custom UI5 apps that make use of the sap.ndc.sample.BarcodeScannerButton.
Best Regards
Gregor

Hi @gregorw, I completely understood now. As u said I mistaken CAPM as an alternative/advanced way of developing Full-Stack FIORI APP. But I understood now that CAPM is complete backend process for applications but it comes with an extra capability of providing UI Elements with OData Annotations. I got it now that we should use SAPUI5/CAPM based on business requirement & feasibility of solution. Thank you so much for helping me..... 😊🙌👍
