Is it possible to disable personnel number from the Service Entry Sheet app?


We're trying to use the "Manage Service Entry Sheet' app in FIORI, but my company doesn't use HR, so there aren't any Personnel Numbers created (they don't come as part of the Best Practices installation either).

Is it possible to disable this field? is there an option in FIORI to post a service receipt, without having to use a Personnel Number (which seems to be mandatory)?

I must to confirm that the 'Personnel number' field is mandatory in the app. You can see it in the following link to the User Assistance:

'You must maintain a contact person to approve the service entry sheet.'

So, you should create the Employee and assign it to a user ID by following the instructions explained in Note 2214564 . There is not other option.

2703545 - How to assign 'Personnel Number'while Service Entry Sheet Creation?


Unable to assign any value to the field 'Personnel Number' (Under General Information) while creating service entry sheet via App "

Manage Service Entry Sheets Lean Services".

Reproducing the Issue

Open the App "Manage Service Entry Sheets Lean Services".

Click on the '+' in order to create the object.

Enter basic data information like reference PO and other details.

Now user tries to assign the value to the field 'Personnel Number', but is unable to do so.


Master data has not been created correctly for the employee person responsible and also business role settings are not configured properly.


Make sure below two steps are done properly;

1. Create the Business Partner using App "Maintain Business Partner" for BP Role and Type as <Employee>, maintain the employee data with 'Personnel Number' and 'User Name'.

2. User name should be assigned with the business role SAP_BR_PROJ_MANAGE_COMM via App "MaintainBusiness User" with <unrestricted> access for write attribute.


Above steps are only valid for the S4 HANA Cloud Customers.
