Dear All
this morning I connected to SAP Cloud Platform CF env of Exprivia and I noted that four devices are in status Offline while yesterday they were Online (see screen-shot below).
Please could you tell me why these devices are in this status and how to put them Online?
Thank you.
Best regards.
Bye Luigi Alboino
Hello Luigi,
thank you for your question. This is the current concept: Should a device that has been sending measures suddenly stop sending for some time, it's status will change to "offline".
The time that has to pass before the status will change depends on the rate the measures have been sent.
the status will change back to "online" as soon as the device proceeds sending measures.
Please note that this may change in future releases.
Cheers,
Michael

Hello Michael,
on last Friday I've sent a MQTT message containing a measure value for each property of the sensor(EnergyConsumption=200,LedRed=0,LedYellow=0,LedGreen=1) from a client PAHO to the device Kinetic (whose Status is Offline) and the valuse is correctly shown on the table but the device's Status has not been changed i.e. is yet Offline (see screen-shot).
Please let me know why the status has not been changed.
Thank you.
Bye Luigi
Hello Luigi,
You can try emptying your browser cache and refresh the view. You can also check the status of your device using API Docs. If it's still marked as "offline" after you have sent measures in both cases, please report this issue by creating a ticket.
Cheers,
Michael
I've opened a ticket to SAP. The problem will be fixed in a next release of SCP Cloud Foundry env.

IoT Edge v2 cannot be deployed in offline mode. For public preview, the IoT Edge runtime must be able to connect to IoT Hub to create/validate the identity for each module. The edge device can go offline for short periods, but it can't be offline for long periods.

Hi Erhan, I've removed your last sentence as it contained an inappropriate link. You can learn more in our SAP Community rules of engagement: https://www.sap.com/community/about/rules-of-engagement.html
