inventory aging - find difference

Hi guys,

I have 2 variables on fiscal year/period to get total stock and total value for inventory for different dates. I am getting the following result

06/2007----

05/2007

Total stock Total Value-Total Stock Total Value

05 10000 07 14000

My user wish to include one more column which gives me the difference between total stock and total value in a new heading.

06/2007--

05/2007--

Difference

Total stock Total Value-Total Stock Total Value-Total Stock Total Value

05 10000 07 14000 2 4000

I dont know how to get that. I can't use formula because there is only one key figure for total stock and total value. I would appreciate if someone can help me with that.

Hi,

if you are using the inventory cube, the difference of your stock between month m and m-1 is Receipts-Issues (your inflow and outflow of your non-cumulative), right?

Create a formula (Receipts-issues) and you will keep your report fully navigational.

hope this helps...

Olivier.

hI olivier,

I dont understand your answer. The user can put any values for the two dates. Not just 2 consecutive dates.

but then no other choice than Diego's with RKF.

Hi ZSL05,

You can use Restricted and calculated key figures for each value.

You can create like this:

Total stock month 1 (RKF with variable for month 1)

Total value month 1 (RKF with variable for month 1)

Total stock month 2 (RKF with variable for month 2)

Total value month 2 (RKF with variable for month 2)

Stock difference (CKF total stock 2 - total stock 1)

Value difference (CKF total value 2 - total value 1)

Then include them as columns of your query.

Hope this helps.

Diego

Well, I know that but is it possible to create them without using restricted key figures.

Hi zsl05,

Which is the problem of using RKF? You are restricting the value of the characteristics with two variables, the difference now is that you put that restricted characteristic inside the key figure.

I'm not sure but maybe you can do it using result calculation.
