Installing ASA9 on new 2008 R2 Server

I have a new Windows 2008 R2 Standard server and I'm trying to install SQL Anywhere Studio 9 (32-bit) on it--staring first with the original 9.0.0/1? "setup.exe" file and planning to patch up to Maint Release 9.0.2 and then EBF install to get me to 9.0.2.3924 (which is compliance with Server 2008). The base 9.0.0/1? setup.exe file errors when I try to run it. The error I get is:

"Setup has experienced an error. Please do the following: -Close any running programs. -Empty your temporary folder. -Check your Internet connection (Internet-based Setups). Then try the Setup again. Error code: -6002."

As far as I can tell there is no justification for me getting this error other than the OS is Windows Server 2008 R2. How does someone run all of the original installs and patches in order to get up to the 9.0.2.3924 level? Our timeframe does not allow the customer to upgrade to the lastest version of Sybase in order to get around this. They will upgrade this year--just not right now. Thanks for your help.

I ran into the same problem at a client's with ASA 11. The user that i was working with was signed in as a Domain Admin and the install failed with the same type of error message.

It is a security issue that their outside IT provider had to correct before we could do the install.
