Installation Failure at SAP J2EE Engine Core

When installing the 6.30 demo, I ran into an error right after the Installing License... portion of the installation.u00A0u00A0I received the following error:

WARNING 2004-01-09 14:48:44

Error 5 (Access is denied.) in execution of a 'CreateProcess' function,

line (262), with parameter

(C:/DOCUME_{1/t8881sb/LOCALS}1/Temp/sapinst_exe_2/SAPCAR.exe -x -v -g -i -n

-R C:\usr\sap/C11/JC00/j2ee/os_libs -f SCSCLIENT.SAR,).

After much investigation, I simply ran the SAPCAR.exe in command-line mode from the directory where the SCSCLIENT.SAR file was located.u00A0u00A0I then went back to the installation program and pressed the ignore button. The installation then finished without any issues and worked.

I do not have the answer as to why it occurred on my machine (other machines of mine had no such problem), but at least there is a work-around.

I have the same problem. But if I do the same steps which Shawn discripted above. I got a another message:

WARNING 2004-01-20 20:45:27

Running the command "C:\usr\sap\C11\SYS\exe\run/startsap.exe 'name=C11' 'nr=00' 'SAPDIAHOST=CHICHA'" finished with returncode -1. Output: STARTSAP failedDetails are written to C:\Programme\sapinst\startC11.log

and then

ERROR 2004-01-20 20:55:28

CJS-20024u00A0u00A0J2EE engine JC00 of SAP System C11 didn't come up after 600 seconds: giving up.

Can somebody help me ?

Hello Chiwing,

at this point of the installation you can go to the Management Console (the icon to start it should be already on your desktop) and manually start the server. If it comes up then you can continue with the installation. If not you have a larger problem.

One option is to wait anoter three weeks - then we will put a new version of the Sneak Preview on SDN for download. Then hopefully the installation problems you experience right now will be gone.

When i install 470 IDES , i met the same problem :

WARNING

The instance can be startup by SAPMMC , but the SAPINST installation can't process at this point , I'm early to know how to get rid of it , Pls help me . Thanks

Hi guys,

Recently got from SAP, the IDES for Oracle. in fact there are 2 DVDs with IDES and a lot of other CD-s with RDBMS.

There are no howto at all.

I did manage to install ORACLE (there is a setup that install everything) ,

Also for IDES I installed sucessfully "Central Database".

My question is how can I use it ?

I have in SAP MMC the C11 group, but i don't have any passwords at all. NOR for Oracle nor for SAP GUI.

Oracle and SAP services are started ok.

Does anoyone can help me just a little bit ? I am tired with it. ;-(
