Installation errors - how to resolve?

I downloaded Crystal Reports 2011 and started the installation process which failed midway.  I rebooted and restarted the installation and all I get is

"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library - this application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way".

What are the next steps to resolving?

The correct answer was in a different entry - it explained that I needed to rename the installation folder - once I did that, it installed correctly.
