Inspection Lot Not Generated despite the correct Master Data

Dear All,

Hope you are doing good

Please help to resolve, as our client is using third part tool 3PL with middleware as SAP PI which sends inbound IDOC having purchase order, delivery detail to SAP ECC and it creates GR with movement type: 101.

A month back system was working correctly and now a days we are facing lot of inconsistencies like GR with movement type: 101 is created successfully, but inspection lots are generating sometimes and on other occasions it is not.

We tried to replicate in Quality and it works every time, the master data maintained in both system is exact as well as there is no master data changes w.r.t. to QM done in production system. The solution offered to business is to cancel the GR document with movement type 101 and again perform the GR, users do not want to go with this option and needs a sure shot way where inspection lot is generated every time.

Requesting to share the inputs to rectify this problem. Cannot upload any screenshots due to client server.

Kindly consider.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

"inspection lots are generating sometimes and on other occasions it is not" depends what the "other occasions' are.

If another material -> Is this material active with the inspection type in the material?

If inbound delivery is used -> inspection type with HU activated in the material master?

If another plant -> Is this plant also active for inspection?

If the same material & purchase order -> Is the material setting 'Control InspLot' that each GR has it own inspection lot (and not one inspection lot per purchase order item, one inspection lot per material)?

Hope that this inspires you to find the cause, but I assume it is master data related.

Herman

Dear Sir,

Thanks a lot for reply.

Please see response inline.

"inspection lots are generating sometimes and on other occasions it is not" depends what the "other occasions' are.

If another material -> Is this material active with the inspection type in the material? ---- It is the same material, inspection type is active.

If inbound delivery is used -> inspection type with HU activated in the material master? ---- Inbound delivery is used, inspection type with HU is not  activated in the material master.

If another plant -> Is this plant also active for inspection? ---- Plant is same.

If the same material & purchase order -> Is the material setting 'Control InspLot' that each GR has it own inspection lot (and not one inspection lot per purchase order item, one inspection lot per material)? ---- Setting for 'Control InspLot' (Blank) For each material document item.

Hope that this inspires you to find the cause, but I assume it is master data related. ---- Currently ABAPer is debugging as per SAP KBA 3017532 inspection lot is influenced by customer exit.
