init with data transfer

Hi,

I am new to sap bi. Does init with data transfer means that delta will be initialized and as well as full load or repair full load.

Hi Nikhil,

Yes you are correct. "Init with data transfer" It will pick all data from soure(most of the cases R3) ans sets delta pointer in source.

we should call this init with data transfer request, not full or repair full load.

Initialization with data transfer is nothing first the data is transferred(full load) to bw side and then the delta queue will be initialized in the R/3 Side.

Initialization with out data transfer is nothing but data is not transferred to bw side and the delta queue will be initialized in R/3 side .

We can run the init with or with out data transfer also , in either way the delta will be activated . But repair full request will be considered in case of ods i.e if u have already run delta and u want run full this time u have to use repair full request ........

Hi Nikhil,

You are right. First full data will be loaded and then pointer will be set in R/3 side for delta.
