Infoset left outer join - performance limits

A question regarding performance of left outer joins on two infoobjects:

We want to report on the installations without a contract. Since the contract infoobject has the installation ID, we want to put an infoset on the contract and installation infoobject, with the installation left outer joined to the contracts. After filtering on empty contract fields, we would have the installations of which the number is not in any contract.

We are dealing with about 2 million contracts and 2 million installations. We have not enough test data for a performance test. Therefore my question: if this scenario feasible?

Hi,

The scnerion is feasible, data will be fetched by query on that Info Set but it will impact performance as you are suggesting 2m records.

The better way would be use Installation master data object in Contract master data object as an attribute and stage the same with Installation id. By doing this you may create a report on Contract master data object directly and use all the attribute of Installation master data as well. This will satisfy all your needs.

I hope it will help.

Thanks,

This is already the case, if I understand you right. Installation ID kan be found in Contract. However, I want to report on installation that do not have a contract and therefore only reporting on contract would not suffice. A possibility is staging the contract to installation, and then report directly on installation. However, then we have additional dependencies, which I want to prevent as much as possible. Therefore an infoset would provide the solution, but performance might not allow it.
