# in the dataload

Dear All

I am loading purchase data into BW. One field in my 2LIS_02_ITM datasource is the shorttext from the purchase order.

For some purchase orders users have put # in this shorttext and BW does not how to handle this and the load crashes. I tried to create an abap the replaces the # by space in the transfer rules but this did not work.

It of course can also not be resolved by putting # in the permitted characters.

HELP, anyone an idea ?

Regards

Marcel

Hi Marcel,

did you enable the infoobject for lower case letters? This might solve your issue. Another approach might be: /people/siegfried.szameitat/blog/2005/07/18/text-infoobjects-part-1

The '#' symbol is a very delicate symbol in BW, but not in R/3. Therefore, the ABAP that you created in the transfer rule could be moved to the user-exit in R/3.

Like enhancing a datasource with new fields, but without the new field. Just the code to check and modify the data.
