Could you please let me know the impact if we force change the password.

Impact with respect to

Dialog users like --> DDIC, SAP* etc.

Other types of users like --> System, Communication, Service

Basically I would like to know what things should be taken care,

if we change the password of the above users.

Thanks & Best Regards

Hi

>Dialog users like --> DDIC, SAP* etc.

They have to use new password for login

>Other types of users like --> System, Communication, Service

you have to mention the new passwords where ever these user ids are being used, like if other systems are connected to your system with a communication id via RFC, then you need to provide new password of comm user to that system , so that they can maintain correct password in the RFC frm SM59.

If you could tell the exact thing you want to perform , you can expect a better to the point answer.

Hi,

Thanks a lot for your reply. Please let me know whether changing DDIC and SAP* passwords periodically is advised.

Actually it is insisted by our auditing departments.

Thanks & Best Regards

We use SAP* and DDIC for few administration task.

You can certainly change password for those users if audit demands that.

Best is you can set parameter "login/password_expiration_time" to some value, may be 90 days.

Then after every 90 days System will ask you to change the password whenever people will try to login with any dialog id.
